About Me:
 It is a
bewildering to me  to to write about myself....somewhere between blowing my own horn and complete apathy...so I will start by describing my.........

personal favorite things:
Ken, my husband of 25 sweet years, pj's and  my pink robe, flavored coffee on a cold winter afternoon, my cats, of course, my kids...that goes without listing actually, El Portal, grandmas, sidewalk chalk, shopping at bizarre vintage stores, Kansas City at Christmas time, red cherry licorice pull -aparts, musicals, bright blue, cloudless sky, Arbor Day farm on any fall day....

I have loved cameras and photography for as long as I can remember. Someday I am going to find that image I took of my dad, when I was 8 years old, with my first instamatic camera. Remember those? The ones with the square flash bulbs on the top? I remember him standing, all tall and handsome, with his back to the sun and posing for me. I was so proud of him and of that image.

My love of photography followed me all of my life. I worked for the high school newspaper, I developed FILM in my basement. I printed my own black and white images. I had a stack of books that were filled with images from Life Magazine. Finally in the year 2001, I made the decision that I could either just love photography and work for someone else, or love it enough to make it a career. I have never looked back.

Photography is funny. It's art...and it's personal. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't carry my camera somewhere. Am I making ART all the time? Well, to me, I am. Its a picture of my own child, on  a stage, in a musical or on the volleyball or basketball court. Or its a client, a child, a pet.

My greatest accomplishment (and this is SO very cliche) are our children. Thomas (24), Amanda (21), Susie (17) and Francie (11) They happen to be the best thing that ever happened to us, and believe me, we have taken just a few pictures of them. Because of them, I have grown as an artist. They have helped me to learn not to take everything so seriously. Laugh, love, hug, cry, and laugh some more.

Ken works with me and has helped me every step of the way with this adventure. I could not do what I do without his involvement and kind words of encouragement. The freedom I have is all due to him.

I  am still a work in progress, developing, if you will. My style changes and our lives change. And as my mother always said, " Change is the only thing that stays the same."

Thanks Mom!
